Students from Lesley University's Art and Culture in Community graduate class present personal perspectives on a broad range of issues pertaining to the War in Iraq.
The National Endowment for the Arts recently published Operation Homecoming, an edited compilation of first-person accounts of the war in Iraq. Troops shared their experiences and families at home expressed their reality, all of which presents an unmediated account of a major event of our time. Writing as a vehicle for personal expression is one example of how the arts allow us to navigate life's great complexities. Students in the course have read the book and have generated writing and art as a vehicle to share their personal views.
